1 Now then, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with this thought, he that hath suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin;2 For in the time I have left you in the flesh, ye may live no more after the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
3 Because it is enough that last life time we did the will of the Gentiles, walking in lasciviousness, lusts, carousing, drunkenness, and abominable idolatries;
4 Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you.
The 5 who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the living and the dead.
6 For this cause was the gospel preached also to the dead, so that in fact they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in spirit;
7 And is near the end of all things; therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
8 And above all things have fervent love for each other; because love covers a multitude of sins.
9 Being hospitable to one another without grumbling,
10 Each manage to others the gift he has received, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.11 If any man speak, speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, according to the power that God gives; that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. amen
